Happy Heinys remains the work at home mum company. Based in California, Lynda Byerline and her sister-in-law cut and sew their nappies with the help of one other mum. They are extremely proud of their family business and hope to expand by adding more mums to their team.

Happy Heiny Nappies

Happy Heinys stuffable / pocket nappies are designed to take baby from birth-to-potty.
With a velcro fastening, they fit all shapes of babies but especially bigger babies.
Their nappies have a soft fleece lining with a 100% poly laminated outer layer.
They also come with 2 micro fibre inserts - one large and one small, they can be used individually or together.
Happy Heinys are more adjustable in size than most birth-to-potty nappies with 4 rows of poppers to give 4 different sizes.
Happy Heinys have been designed that there will always be soft fleece against baby's skin and so are ideal for sensitive skin babies.
The Happy Heiny Nappy is a little bigger than the Bumgenius and the velcro strip across the front is wider.

Washing Happy Heinys

Store wet and dirty nappies in a dry pail. Older babies’ solid waste can be removed by gently shaking the diaper over a toilet. The fleece will release solids easily, there is no need to rinse them before washing.

Washing instructions:

Remove the inserts
Wash on hot
Rinse well to ensure all detergent is removed from nappies.
Dry on high heat. The high heat of the dryer will keep your Happy Heiny functioning like new. Happy Heinys say that they dry their PUL products on high heat and have not noticed any break down of our PUL.

At best, a detergent to be used on your baby's nappies would NOT contain enzymes, dyes, perfumes, optical brighteners or any other component designed to be left on your nappies after washing.

Specialty detergents with fabric softeners or wrinkle guards will not be suitable.

Never use fabric softener of any kind on reusable nappies. Liquid fabric softeners and dryer sheets both leave a waxy residue which causes fleece to repel urine and decreases the absorbency of other diapers.

Nappy rash creams can also cause repelling. For best results either place a small wash cloth on top of the fleece or use a liner.

Happy Heinys say that you should avoid the following: Dr. Bronner’s Soap, 7th Generation, Bio-Kleen, Ivory Snow, Dreft, Charlie’s, Any ALL free detergents, Sport-Wash & Sensi-Clean have the potential for detergent burn in babies. . Happy Heinys will not honour the warranty if these are used
